some of the best people in the field. Topics range from improving critical skills, such as designing cost-effective human
performance programs to improving your business management expertise.
Networking
By actively
participating in ISPI, you are connected to a responsive network of Orange County Performance Improvement and Human Resource
Colleagues. You'll be listed in our membership directory, which members use regularly to network with other professionals
in our field.
Job Posting Service
Our Director
of Member Services maintains a job bank with current opportunities in the field of HPT. Learn about positions by attending
our monthly meetings, visiting our Web site, and watching your e-mail for our Job Alert! messages. The most current jobs
are sent out by e-mail--while they're still hot--to members only!
Membership Directory
Locate the resource you need, or advertise your services if you are a consultant
in the performance improvement field. Our membership directory, created and maintained by the Director of Membership, provides
relevant contact information about our membership and serves as a useful networking tool. Have a question? Chances are there
is a member who can answer it!
Library Resources
We maintain a lending library of over 100 books, manuals, handbooks, journals,
newsletters, videos, audiotapes, articles, pamphlets, directories and meeting handouts. Order in advance or borrow at a meeting.
Voting Privileges
All members are entitled to vote for the Board of Directors officer positions
each year.
Getting Involved
This
is your chance to make a difference...to be involved in administration of a successful non-profit organization. It is important
that our programs meet the needs of our membership. We welcome members to share their great ideas. Members can be a part of
defining and implementing OC-ISPI. Your help is needed in many ways. Here are a few examples of volunteer opportunities:
For Marketing:
- Provide administrative help with mailings.
- Design postcards, flyers or brochures.
- Make phone calls to provide details on upcoming meetings or workshops.
- Give brief presentations at colleges, universities, or businesses
about the benefits of attending and joining OC-ISPI.
- Help build our database by contacting/prospecting for new companies
or individuals who might be interested in joining OC-ISPI.
- Distribute OC-ISPI marketing materials at other professional association
meetings (e.g., OD Network, ASTD, etc.)
For Our Web site:
- Help maintain our new Web site! We need people to:
- Update the site, as needed
- Install new graphics
- Be our Webmaster!
- Contribute articles and job postings
At Our Meetings:
- Help at the registration table
- Introduce new members and guests
- Help with the door prizes
For Our Programs:
- Suggest an interesting topic or speaker
- Donate Door Prizes
For Our Library:
- Donate a book, journal, newsletter, video, or audiotape
- Check used bookstores
- Call a publisher and ask for donations of books they are culling out
- Ask someone who has written a book to donate a copy
- Help set up the library at the meetings
For Our Membership:
- Send out membership packets
- Print our membership brochure
- Perhaps an organization will sponsor our brochure by having it updated and printed. Free advertising!
