 ISPI-OC BOARD OF DIRECTOR POSITIONS

Below are descriptions of each of the Board Positions.  At the end of each year we nominate and elect new Board members.  If you are interested in running for any one of the Board positions below, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Director of Operations: The Director of Operations assures a smooth information flow between members of the Board. He or she is the primary greeter at member meetings and assures proper distribution of funds and membership applications at the meetings. He or she manages chapter supplies such as stationery, brochures, and membership applications. He or she assists with other chapter operations as needed.

Director of Membership: The Director of Membership administers the Chapter’s membership program. He or she provides information to prospective members, processes membership applications, facilitates the renewal process, and interfaces with the Directors of Membership from chapters with whom joint memberships are offered. He or she maintains the CVent database to reflect active, past, and prospective members and publishes the Chapter’s Membership Directory. Typically, he or she will work with a committee of two or three people to accomplish these tasks.

Director of Programs: The Director of Programs identifies and schedules appropriate speakers for member meetings and workshops. Appropriate speakers are those who can contribute to the member’s knowledge and skill in the field of HPT. At a minimum, programs are held quarterly. More frequent programs can be held at the Board's discretion. Workshops can be scheduled at any time. Typically, he or she will work with a committee of two or three people to accomplish these tasks.

Director of Finance: The Director of Finance serves as the Chief Elected Financial Officer for establishing, updating, and monitoring OC-ISPI financial policies. He or she represents the best interests of the entire membership as it pertains to fiscal responsibility, the financial soundness of OC-ISPI, and the prudent application of funds in keeping with the goals, objectives, policies, and strategic direction established by the Board of Directors. He or she serves to guide appropriate staff assigned to implement the financial management of OC-ISPI. He or she is the spokesperson for OC-ISPI on financial matters.

The Director of Finance accounts for and deposits all monies received by the Chapter. He or she writes checks to reimburse Chapter expenses. He or she prepares monthly financial reports to present at the Board of Director’s meeting. He or she interfaces with the Chapter’s selected financial institution, and assures a smooth transition from one year to another. He or she may be required to complete tax forms and/or to provide information to ISPI for tax reporting purposes. He or she may or may not work with a committee to accomplish these tasks.

Director of Marketing: The Director of Marketing seeks to promote the Chapter by identifying sources of potential members and by publicizing Chapter events. He or she is responsible for the Chapter’s informational brochure and any other literature prepared to promote the Chapter. Typically, he or she will work with a committee of one or two people to accomplish these tasks.

Director of Communications: The Director of Communications acts as a liason between the Board of Directors and the chapter members.  He or she is partners closely with the Director of Marketing to keep the membership up to date on all chapter events and promotions.  This role is also responsible for maintaining the Chapter's website.
