OVERVIEW
Under general supervision, creates, implements, facilitates, and measures learning and organizational development programs, including program development, data gathering and research, content development, instructional design, implementation and evaluation of sustainable development programs. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate well with others, build relationships across departments and communicate powerfully.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Develops and implements division, department and organizational development programs.
  • Participates in the on-going development and sustainability of agency initiatives ad programs including programs such as on-boarding/orientation, performance management, talent review, leadership development, and mentor programs.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts in other divisions to design, develop, and implement appropriate business skill and technical training which integrates adult learning principles, current applicable research, leadership competencies, and agency values.
  • Delivers instructor-led classroom training and train-the-trainer sessions; analyzes and reports on classroom evaluation results in order to offer feedback on course effectiveness.
  • Designs, develops and incorporates the agency’s core competencies into all existing and future training initiatives thereby contributing to the vision of an integrated talent management strategy.
  • Conducts research and analyzes data on assigned projects, as needed.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge of:

  • Adult learning principles.
  • Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) model.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making models.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

JOB SCOPE AND DIMENSIONS
Develop training that builds understanding of Quality Systems and General Mfg processes (line clearance, microscopes, measurement techniques, etc.). Design training curriculum and conduct training that ensures that our employees have the skills to ensure our products are manufactured in accordance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements and customer requirements. Receives direction from Technical Training Project Manager. Provides direction to self/ works under minimal supervision. May be necessary to coordinate the activities of support groups. May provide direction to Training Administrative Support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Include but not limited to:

  • Develop and deliver training curriculum for our Neurovascular Division.
  • Responsible for designing and conducting training to ensure existing and new production personnel have the skills to build quality products that meet compliance and customer requirements.
  • Under the direction of the Technical Training Project Manager, work with Manufacturing Managers and Supervisors to identify training priorities that align with business objectives.
  • Work with the Technical Training Project Manager to develop and implement a Train-the-Trainer and Assembler Certification Program.
  • Help track metrics to evaluate progress, effectiveness, and identify further gaps.
  • Develop alternative training methods to facilitate results.
  • Develop training materials including training manuals, handouts, PowerPoint presentations or other visual aids, and outlines. Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, or videos.
  • Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws/standards and the Covidien Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.


QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Education/Training/Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in organizational development, business, or related technical field with five to ten years training experience preferably in medical device manufacturing.
  • Certified Trainer with exceptional facilitation skills.


KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of basic quality tools, root cause and risk analysis, and statistics are preferred.
  • Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer literate; use of word processing, spreadsheets.
  • Quality System Requirements knowledge preferred. ISO procedures / FDA requirements knowledge preferred.

OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Curriculum Developer/Instructor II (Temporary) - #1101760 to support our Technical Training department. Technically instructs and trains internal and external customers in support of Panasonic Avionics Corporation systems, products, and processes. Teaches in a classroom, video, or web based delivery medium and evaluates training effectiveness. Supports the instructional design process by working closely with subject matter experts, researching, and developing content for use in training materials, manuals, presentations, storyboards, test items, and exams. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Instructor:
Deliver technical training in a classroom, video, or web based delivery medium.
Conduct student laboratory periods, practical demonstrations, and exercises.
Administer exams and maintain student records.
Administer class evaluations in order to obtain metrics of training effectiveness.
Initiate curriculum and/or documentation change requests to ensure material is accurate.

Curriculum Development and Life-cycle Maintenance:
Research technical documentation for the purpose of developing training materials for manuals, presentations, and storyboards.
Write instructional materials for multiple formats including instructor-led, video, and self-paced training.
Assist curriculum developers in revising existing curriculum and/ or developing new curriculum according to department standards.
Develop test items and exams to support learning objectives and standards.

Process Improvement:
Assess and provide ongoing feedback and recommendations on existing curriculum.
Participate in work groups for process definition and improvement.
Accurately estimate project work effort and report progress, issues, and risks to Project Manager in a timely manner.
Participate in instructor and class evaluations to improve teaching effectiveness.
Train new and/or junior level instructors to guarantee subject matter knowledge.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

OVERVIEW
